The minimum wage for hiring is going to be upgraded, within a few days, by at least 14% in the private sector in Madagascar. The Ministry of Labour has to decide the exact amount, after unsuccessful negotiations between the main workers' unions and employers' organizations. This increase, which should have taken place at the beginning of March, is very expected by the workers, in a context of high inflation.
