Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles from the USA won the 200m with a time of 19.88 seconds (wind -0.8 m/s) at the Diamond League in Monaco, where there were no Slovenian representatives, and returned to competition after a hamstring injury. Swede Armand Duplantis won the pole vault with a meet record of 6.05 m, but missed the world record of 6.29 m.
