The Slovenian national basketball team experienced an unexpected turn of events today. Head coach Aleksander Sekulić emphasized on Monday that naturalized center Alen Omić was not in the plans for now, but just two days later, the 33-year-old and 216 cm tall basketball player rejoined the Slovenian national team.
After Josh Nebo canceled his appearance at the European Basketball Championship and it seemed that Slovenia would play without a classic center, the national team management reached an agreement with Alen Omić, who had already joined the team.
Alen Omić has joined the Slovenian national basketball team in preparation for the European Championship, the KZS announced today. The 33-year-old and 216 cm tall Omić has so far made 19 official appearances for the national team, scoring 146 points and 105 rebounds.
