Lufthansa Group, Wizz Air to resume Israel flights
EASA eased its Israel airspace warning, prompting Lufthansa Group and Wizz Air to restart Tel Aviv service after a three-month suspension.
- On Wednesday, Wizz Air and the Lufthansa Group announced they will gradually resume flights to Tel Aviv, with Wizz Air starting May 28 and Lufthansa subsidiaries beginning June 1.
- The decisions follow the European Union Aviation Safety Agency's recent update to its Conflict Zone Advisory, which moved Israel from a restricted airspace designation to one requiring caution.
- Lufthansa Group will restart Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo services on June 1, while SWISS and Lufthansa flights resume July 1; Eurowings expects to return in mid-July.
- Coinciding with the Israel resumption, Wizz Air confirmed the delivery of its 200th Airbus A321neo aircraft, reinforcing its strategy to carry 80 million passengers in 2026.
