The Let Our Vows Endure (LOVE) Act gives D.C.'s mayor the authority to issue marriage licenses during the ongoing government shutdown, a power normally reserved for the federally-funded Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Starting Tuesday, D.C. residents will finally be able to get marriage licenses in the District for the first time since the federal government shutdown. The Clerk of D.C.
