Louisiana law allowing vehicles to have darker window tints takes effect Aug. 1

Louisiana lawmakers voted to reduce the amount of light that tinted front side windows allow inside a vehicle from 40% to 25% through Act 143.

Opportunity to have vehicle tints tested

Motorists who may be worried that the tint on their vehicles might be too dark have the opportunity to have it tested. From August 6th through 10th, they can attend one of 12 drive-through locations across the country, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Persons are reminded that the new tint rules come into effect from September 1st.
