- On Thursday, the Ontario government announced it will provide $605,000 to support thirteen festivals and events in Hamilton in 2025.
- This funding is part of the province’s 2025 Experience Ontario tourism initiative, which allocates nearly $20 million to over 350 events across Ontario.
- Among the Hamilton events receiving funding, Supercrawl is allocated the highest amount at $125,000, while Because Beer, Winona Peach, and Hamilton Fringe each are granted $55,000.
- Minister Stan Cho highlighted that Ontario’s festivals and events highlight the province’s strengths, foster community pride, generate employment opportunities, and support the growth of local economies, while recognizing the valuable contributions of volunteers.
- The provincial support aims to help these events attract visitors, support local communities, and strengthen Ontario’s cultural and economic landscape in 2025.
