Dutch tennis player Jesper de Jong defeated 13th-seeded Karen Khachanov of Russia in a more than four-hour, five-set match at the French Open in Paris on Friday. De Jong, who originally failed to qualify for the tournament, advanced to the last 16, where he will face world No. 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany.
Jesper de Jong was overjoyed after a victory over the 13th-seeded Russian Karen Khachanov in the third round of Roland Garros. "It is an incredible achievement for myself," he told De Telegraaf. "I am so proud of how I stayed mentally focused. That was the key. I still feel physically okay. That is a good sign. Now it is a matter of recovering, taking my vitamins, and not getting sick."
