The 25 newest additions to the national playlist at the Library of Congress have been deemed "worthy of preservation for all time based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation’s recorded sound heritage"
Songs must be at least ten years old to confirm their cultural impact.
As it does every year, the Library of Congress has selected 25 "recordings that define history" for preservation. Also on the list this time is the original soundtrack of the musical "Chicago" and Beyoncé's song "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."
