To the editor: Benito Flores’ efforts in El Sereno should be counseled (“Aged man builds tree home to protest eviction from state-owned dwelling,” June 3). Given the Grants Cross vs. Johnson ruling, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s persistent encampment sweeps and native sit/lie bans, what choices do the unhoused have left however to reside in bushes? The displacement of elders from our communities is merciless and sometimes quantities to a dying sentence. A…
