Lee County approves Purdue Pharma opioid settlement

Lee County is lining up for opioid settlement money after commissioners quietly approved a proposed deal Aug. 5 with Purdue Pharma, the Sackler family and eight other drugmakers. The county has until Sept. 30 to file the paperwork. Forty-seven states, including Florida, approved the $7.4 billion opioid settlement in June.
