Latvia’s Premier Signals Ukraine Will Get New Patriot Batteries
Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina signaled that Ukraine will receive a delivery of the US-made Patriot air defense systems as the country comes under increasingly relentless Russian drone and missile strikes.
The United States hopes to persuade some NATO allies to hand over Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine to repel Russian air attacks.
The Netherlands is also watching with interest any signals from the United States that it might sell more weapons to its European allies for Ukraine. Germany is in talks with the US about, among other things, the purchase of Patriot air defense missiles for Ukraine. "We are looking favorably at any new US initiatives," the Dutch Ministry of Defense stated.
Latvia ' s Prime Minister, Evika Silinja, stated that Ukraine would receive a supply of air defence systems from Patriot American production, as Russian drones and missiles were increasingly being attacked, and Bloomberg wrote with reference to her press conference in Riga today.
