The U.S. government handed over this Monday to the authorities of El Salvador the former president of Congress and former presidential candidate of the Nationalist Republican Alliance (Arena, right), Norman Quijano, sentenced in 2024 to 13 years in prison for negotiating “electoral benefits” with the gangs, reported the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
"This day (Monday), we have received Norman Quijano from the U.S. authorities. At this time, he will be formally notified of his conviction for the crimes of illegal groups and electoral fraud," the Public Prosecutor's Office announced in a social media publication.
