Las Vegas PD announce nation’s first fleet of police Tesla Cybertrucks

Las Vegas Metro Police will introduce a fleet of Tesla Cybertrucks in the U.S., with 10 vehicles purchased as announced by Sheriff Kevin McMahill.
The fleet includes a specially fitted SWAT vehicle following a January explosion involving a Cybertruck, where suspect Matthew Livelsberger died.
Sheriff McMahill emphasized that the Cybertrucks are designed to protect officers, stating, 'The cop inside will be safe no matter what, it will stop bullets.'
In 2024, both homicides and motor vehicle thefts in the department's jurisdiction have decreased by more than 20 percent compared to 2023, according to Sheriff McMahill.
