Laois has been announced on the shortlist of the European Commission’s 2026 European Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism Award. Alongside Dubrovnik (Croatia), Geestland (Germany), Ibiza (Spain), Mariagerfjord (Denmark), Marmaris (Türkiye), Rebild (Denmark), Tartu (Estonia), Laois will compete to be recognised as a pioneer destination of sustainable tourism.
