Kyle Filipowski Becomes 1st Utah Jazz Player to Earn NBA Summer League MVP

On Tuesday in Las Vegas, Kyle Filipowski made history by being the inaugural Utah Jazz athlete to receive the NBA Summer League’s Most Valuable Player award.
Filipowski received the MVP award after topping the league by averaging nearly 30 points per game, along with close to eight rebounds and just over two assists across his three appearances.
His best performance came on July 14th against the San Antonio Spurs, scoring 35 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a close overtime loss.
Filipowski converted just over half of his field goal attempts and made close to 40% of his three-point shots during the summer league, while also appearing in 72 games in his rookie NBA season.
Filipowski aims to build on his summer league performance to secure a more prominent position with Utah as he enters his sophomore year in the NBA.
