EADaily, August 25th, 2025. Kiev threatened Warsaw with consequences after Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced his intention to ban the symbols of the UPA * in the country on a par with the Nazi. This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing a diplomatic source.
"The idea is sound, and it's very good that President Karol Nawrocki brought it up," said former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, commenting on RMF FM's broadcast of the president's veto of the bill on aid for Ukrainian citizens. The PiS deputy chairman welcomed the proposal to equate Bandera symbols with Nazi and communist ones.
The authorities in Kyiv warned Poland that they would react if the Sejm equated the red-and-black symbolism with Nazi symbolism, the Ukrainian website European Truth reported on Monday, citing a source in Ukrainian diplomacy.
