- At the final hearing, Cho Eun-suk's special counsel team presented a sentencing request at Seoul Central District Court demanding five years for blocking detention, three years for violating Cabinet members' rights, and two years for drafting the revised proclamation.
- The court signaled a likely Jan. 16 verdict for the obstruction trial, which will be the first to finish, while Yoon faces multiple related trials including a related insurrection trial.
- Historically, the move followed Yoon's Dec. 3, 2024 suspension of civilian rule, which caused massive protests and a parliamentary showdown; a team member said the acts `seriously damaged law and order` and urged strict accountability to prevent repeat power abuses.
