King’s College: Alausa defends concession, alleges ministry directors instigating workers

- Alausa cited significant infrastructure decay and funding gaps at the institution, noting that President Bola Tinubu faces a massive financial challenge as N2 trillion is required to address the needs of 115 Federal Unity Colleges.
- The minister observed poor facility conditions during an unannounced visit and directed cancellation of a paid parking arrangement on school grounds, which he said raised security concerns by allowing the public unrestricted access to the environment.
- Despite the cancellation, the Federal Government remains committed to retaining ownership of the College, with Alausa stating that officials will continue dialogue with unions to restore the institution's reputation and quality.
- The cancellation reflects what Alausa described as a significant infrastructure gap persisting for 40 years, which has severely impacted Nigerians' access to well-maintained facilities at the legacy institution.
