- Pro-Chancellor Lola Fibisola Akande reported that some students were suspected of links to off-campus kidnapping activities, prompting Alausa to order institutions to strengthen internal intelligence gathering with the Department of State Services.
- Reiterating President Bola Tinubu's stance against ransom payments, the Minister warned that campuses must not become "safe havens for criminal elements," stating culpable students "have no place in our tertiary institutions."
- Alausa announced that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund's 2027 intervention programme will support security infrastructure including perimeter fencing, while he discussed strengthening the Safe Schools Initiative with Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa .
- Emphasizing a "collective responsibility" to protect children from primary school to tertiary education, Alausa's directive followed an appeal from Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida for the Energising Education Programme's extension to the university's second campus.
