Kenya is restarting a multi-billion dollar railway expansion funded through revenue mobilization, reviving a project that has been stalled for more than six years. This follows the suspension of an earlier loan from China. Kenyan President William Ruto says the railway will ease road congestion by moving large cargo through rail travel, reducing costs, saving time, and increasing safety on the country’s major roads.
