Kazakhstan is creating a strategic reserve of uranium for nuclear power plants, the national news agency Kazinform reported. The uranium will not be enriched, but will be stored in the form of ore. Kazakhstan ranks first in the world in uranium production (40%) and its subsoil contains 14% of all discovered world reserves.
