Kayaker Drowns at Lake Ivanhoe
Deputies said the man was found unresponsive beside an overturned kayak and was pronounced dead after rescue crews recovered him from the water.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, a man died after drowning in Lake Ivanhoe in the Town of Lyons, prompting response from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office and Bloomfield Police Department.
Deputies arriving around 3:20 p.m. spotted the kayak upside down about 150 yards offshore and found the man unresponsive in the water, wearing a life jacket.
Lyons Fire and Rescue crews launched the Delavan Air Boat to recover the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:53 p.m.
The Walworth County Medical Examiner is assisting the ongoing investigation, while the man's identity remains unreleased; Lake Ivanhoe is about 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee.
This incident follows the drowning of an 18-year-old man from Pewaukee at Lake Okauchee, as authorities continue investigating circumstances at Lake Ivanhoe.
