- On Tuesday, Harmanpreet Kaur announced she is stepping down as captain of the Indian Women's Cricket Team across all formats. The long-serving Indian led the team to historic success during her tenure.
- Harmanpreet led India to the ICC Women's ODI World Cup title last November, becoming the only ODI World Cup-winning captain to achieve this milestone for the World Cup.
- In a lengthy Instagram post, Harmanpreet described the choice as difficult, stating, "This is not an easy decision. It carries years of memories, emotions, sacrifices. I gave this team everything I had."
