Karolina Pakėnaitė was diagnosed with the rare Usher syndrome at the age of 19. The disease causes hearing and vision loss. Although the news was shocking, Karolina decided to make the most of her opportunities while she still could. She recently completed her PhD at the University of Bath and is currently preparing to climb Everest. The Lithuanian aims to become the first deafblind person to climb the world's highest peak.
