Three Kirill Kaprizov Goals Do the Trick as Wild Bounce Back
Kaprizov scored three goals and Jesper Wallstedt made 29 saves as Minnesota improved to 3-1-1 and held Florida to one goal.
On Saturday, Kirill Kaprizov netted his first hat trick of the season, lifting the Minnesota Wild to a 4-1 victory over the Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena.
Matt Boldy scored his first goal of the season in the opening minute, while goaltender Jesper Wallstedt made 29 saves to spoil the Panthers' home opener.
Minnesota penalty killers thwarted Florida power plays throughout the game, with coach John Hynes praising the unit: "What I really liked was we had to get some big kills, but we didn't get timid on it."
Standing at 3-1-1 after their three-game road trip, the Wild return home to host Vegas on Monday night at 7 p.m.
Defensemen Quinn Hughes and Jared Spurgeon became the first partners in NHL history to record at least one point in each of their team's first five games.
