Could the Final Four Be Coming to Your City? NCAA Reveals Potential Hosts
The finalists include experienced hosts and newcomers as the NCAA weighs venue, hotel and infrastructure plans before selecting hosts in 2027.
On Tuesday, the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Committees selected seven finalist cities each for the 2032-2036 championship cycle following their fall meetings.
Committee members sought a blend of experienced host cities and potential newcomers, requiring each finalist to demonstrate competition venues, hotel accommodations, and community support.
Liz Darger, senior associate athletics director at Brigham Young and chair of the Division I Women's Basketball Committee, said "the strong interest in hosting reflects the championship's stature as one of the premier events in sports."
Although New Orleans is a finalist for both championships, the committees confirmed they are not pursuing a combined men's and women's Final Four at a single site on the same weekend.
Final decisions are expected in July 2027 after representatives from each city present during committee meetings in Naples, Florida; NCAA staff meanwhile continue studying venue-sharing feasibility for 2037 or beyond.
