State court spending on salaries rises twice as high as inflation

Between 2016 and 2024, state judiciary expenditure on salaries increased 107.42%, exceeding the inflation of 49.13% in the same period. This growth was constant, except in 2020, during the pandemic. State spending on Judiciary salaries increased above inflation in 24 states in 2024. The largest annual increase was in Paraná, with a 29.2% increase in personnel expenses. Rondônia (26.77%) and Acre (21.5%) rounded out the top 3 with the largest increases. The official price index for the period was 4.83%.
