Two Brazilians have been sentenced to 19 and 23 years in prison respectively for the beating death of a young Congolese migrant in Rio de Janeiro, the court announced Saturday.

The 1st Jury Court of the Capital sentenced 2 men on Friday (14.Mar.2025) for the death of Congolese Moïse Mugenvi Kabagambe, in January 2022. Aleson Cristiano de Oliveira Fonseca received a sentence of 23 years, 7 months and 10 days. Fábio Pirineus da Silva was sentenced to 19 years, 6 months and 20 days.
