Jordin Sparks to perform national anthem at 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500
Jordin Sparks returns after singing the anthem at the race in 2015 and 2024, as reserved seats are already sold out, organizers said.
On Thursday, race organizers announced Grammy-nominated Jordin Sparks will sing the national anthem at the Indianapolis 500 on May 24, marking her third appearance after performances in 2015 and 2024.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles said officials are "moved by her two previous renditions" and recognize how important the national anthem performance is to the pre-race ceremonies.
Boles announced Wednesday that reserved seats for the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" are sold out, though general admission tickets remain available for the event, which typically draws 350,000 fans.
Sparks rose to fame as the youngest winner of American Idol and has since sold more than 10 million digital tracks and co-written Ariana Grande's smash single "The Way."
As the nation marks its 250th birthday, organizers anticipate a special atmosphere for the upcoming edition of the Greatest Spectacle, scheduled for May 24 in Indianapolis.
