Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will contest six Bihar seats independently after failed alliance talks, aiming to protect its political influence in tribal border constituencies, party leaders said.
- On October 18, 2025, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha announced it will contest the Bihar Assembly elections independently, fielding candidates in six seats.
- After failed talks over seat allocation, JMM demanded 12 seats and warned it would go alone if unmet by October 15; Bhattacharya said, `We are discussing the matter... The number of seats may rise to 10`.
- The party will field candidates in Chakai, Dhamdaha, Katoria , Manihari , Jamui and Pirpainti , named 20 star campaigners led by Hemant Soren and filed the list with the Election Commission.
- The decision prompted calls within JMM to relook alliances in Jharkhand, with the party saying it may reassess ties after Bihar polls and ensure `no government in Bihar is formed without JMM's support`.
