- No longer needing the toy, Punch has successfully integrated into the troop, playing and grooming with fellow macaques, according to Ichikawa City Zoo officials.
- "He is acquiring sociability and finding his own place within the troop," said Takashi Yasunaga, a section chief at the zoo.
- While the zoo held no birthday event to maintain equal treatment for animals, it is exhibiting the messages from Britain, Canada, and Japan until Aug 30.
