JAMB Lifts SIM, Email Change Ban, Gives Candidates Fresh Directives
Candidates can now change a phone number or email once after payment, affidavit upload and biometric verification, JAMB said.
- On Monday, September 21, 2026, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board relaxed restrictions, allowing candidates to request a change of their GSM number, email address, or both.
- Director of Communications Fabian Benjamin stated the update follows new identity and biometric verification measures designed to prevent fraud, while ensuring candidates are not unnecessarily disadvantaged.
- To update details, candidates must log into their e-facility profile, pay for the service, and provide a Court Affidavit alongside their new contact information for biometric verification.
- This facility is available strictly at designated JAMB CBT, PTC, or PRC Centres, and the Board mandates that each candidate may only utilize the update service once.
- Ensuring registration integrity, candidates who encounter unexpected credential access issues will benefit from this accommodation in future registration cycles.
