Jack Draper storms into Eastbourne semi-finals
Draper produced 25 winners and only nine unforced errors as he stayed on track for a first Wimbledon warm-up title.
On Thursday, Jack Draper reached the Lexus Eastbourne Open semi-finals, defeating 6ft 8in Canadian Gabriel Diallo 6-1 6-4 in his first tournament week under new coach Sir Andy Murray.
The 24-year-old, who slid to No160 following a year of injury setbacks, emphatically announced his return to form, securing his first semi-final appearance in 12 months.
Draper finished with 25 winners and nine unforced errors; "I feel great," the Briton said, noting his growing confidence in his body despite battling a stomach bug earlier in the week.
In Friday's semi-final, Draper will face either Ugo Humbert or Quentin Halys, while lucky loser Toby Samuel also advanced after defeating eighth seed Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-3 6-4.
Looking ahead to Wimbledon next week, Draper hopes to make a statement return under Murray's guidance, building on his current momentum at Devonshire Park.
Canadian Gabriel Diallo leaned dryly 6-1, 6-4 ahead of British Jack Draper on Thursday in the quarterfinals of Eastbourne's turf tournament, the last pre-season before Wimbledon.
