GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Amid an increase in need, the Salvation Army kicked off Christmas gift pickup through its Angel Tree program Tuesday in Grand Rapids. Participants are preapproved and can choose three gifts per child. Volunteers sort the toys into bins and restock the tables to make sure they have enough for each age group. They also help guide each shopper through the process.
