Rome, March 31, 2026 — A specter with ever sharper contours that hangs over the future of the Italian and European economy. Inflation rose in March: Istat certifies this in the preliminary estimates, which see the national consumer price index for the entire community (NIC), gross of tobacco, growing by 0.5% on a monthly basis and +1.7% on an annual basis (from +1.5% in the previous month).
