Italy fines oil giant Eni over bioplastic market abuse
Rome, June 24, 2025 The Mater-Bi and its use costs dear to Novamont. The Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) fined Novamont, and Eni controlling it, for having abused its dominant position in the compostable bags sector, and having created almost a monopoly. For Novamont the fine is 30.36 million, for Eni of 1.7 million.
