Concretely, the irrevocability of principle will be abolished. This means that people will be allowed to change their gender and first name multiple times. Similarly, the procedure before the family court will also be abolished.

From now on, it will be possible, in principle, to change gender and first name more than once. And that will be possible via a simple procedure with the civil registry officer. This is stated in an amendment to the Transgender Act, which the federal government gave the green light on Friday.
