Analysts from the Institute for the Study of the War (ISW) point out that if Ukrainian troops are to withdraw from the entire Donetsk region under an agreement with Moscow, the Russians will take control of the "force centres" - the main defence line fortified by the Donetzk region in 2014 - and will have more favourable positions for an offensive position on the Harkov and Dnipropetrovsk regions in the event of a settlement of hostilities.
