On Friday, Mohammad Bashir pleaded guilty to preparing terrorist acts at the Old Bailey, admitting he assisted the attacker who killed two worshippers at a Manchester synagogue.
Bashir drove Jihad Al-Shamie to the UK Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, on August 14, 2025, for hostile reconnaissance weeks before the October attack.
Jihad Al-Shamie killed worshippers Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby at Heaton Park Synagogue in Crumpsall last October, attacking with a knife while wearing a fake suicide belt.
Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb ordered a pre-sentence report and scheduled a two-day sentencing hearing for July 20 and 21 at Manchester Crown Court, describing it as a "very serious charge."
Prosecutor Jonathan Polnay noted three additional charges regarding WhatsApp material disseminated between November and December 2024, with the court allowing these to lie on file pending sentencing.
