Starting Sept 8, Iran will raise gasoline prices for consumers exceeding 110 liters per month, government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani announced. The move addresses economic challenges amid war and crippling United States sanctions.

The quota system maintains prices for the first 60 liters and next 50 liters at 1,500 and 3,000 tomans respectively, Mohajerani noted. The third tier will double to 10,000 tomans per liter.
