IPL Playoff Scenarios: KKR's Big Win Keeps Them Alive, GT's Quest for Top Two Becomes Complicated
Raghuvanshi and Green powered KKR with a 108-run stand, while Shubman Gill’s 85 was not enough for GT.
On Saturday, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Gujarat Titans by 29 runs at Eden Gardens, staying alive in a season that had threatened to end weeks ago.
KKR posted its highest total of the season, scoring 247 runs, fueled by half-centuries from Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Cameron Green.
Allen scored 93, while Raghuvanshi finished unbeaten on 82 and Green on 52; Raghuvanshi displayed awareness to secure his fifth half-century of the season.
Despite Shubman Gill's 85, Gujarat Titans reached only 218 for four, falling short as Sunil Narine, playing his 200th IPL game, dismissed Gill in the 17th over.
Following the match, Sai Sudharsan moved to the top of the Orange Cap list with 554 runs, while Gill climbed to second with 552 as GT missed playoff qualification.
