Iowa passes law imposing tighter restrictions on PBMs

Last week, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a law seeking to control rising prescription drug costs and protect rural pharmacies by targeting some of the drug middlemens’ most controversial practices.

Governor signs bill regulating PBMs

All the letter writing, phone calls, and email messages to Governor Reynolds paid off as she signed the bill regulating Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM) last Wednesday. Bedford Drug and NuCara Pharmacy in Lenox were very concerned about the future of local pharmacies if the bill had not passed.
