Can India end its 51-year Hockey World Cup jinx?
Just before the Indian men’s hockey team checks into Amstelveen in the Netherlands for the Hockey World Cup starting on 15 August, they will make a very important pit stop in Switzerland. Like they did before the Paris Olympics two years ago, the Indians will undergo a three-day high-intensity camp at renowned adventurer Mike Horn’s base camp in the Swiss Alps.
International player Rajinder Singh, from Sirsa, Haryana, left the country on Friday night with the Indian team for the 2026 World Hockey Cup (FIH). His team will first travel to Switzerland, where they will have two to three training sessions. After that, the team will travel to the Netherlands. The Indian hockey team's first match will be played on Independence Day, August 15th, at 4 p.m.
