UNESCO has designated February 21 as International Mother Language Day. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of the mother tongue and encourage people around the world to nurture their mother tongue and learn and respect the languages of other cultures. As the head of the DSP office, Glorjana Veber, wrote in a message on this occasion, the mother tongue "originates near the heart".
