Intel's upcoming "Panther Lake" architecture has just popped up in a perfmon platform update, which now recognizes its core codenames and CPUID via the InstLatX64 lookup table. What were rumors about the microarchitectures that Intel would put in its new general architecture and processors have finally been confirmed. No one doubted what we would see, curiously, in the P-Core, but doubted with the E-Core. After a confirmation by InstLatX64 we can say for sure that Intel will take a small step forward and will not be conformist: Panther Lake will use microarchitecture Cougar Cove and Darkmont.
