FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) -- An inmate who tried to escape custody was shot by an officer earlier this month, according to the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office. On May 2, SCSO officials were taking an inmate to the Stokes County Jail. Before arriving at the jail, the inmate tried to escape in Forsyth County.
