- Ibarra sustained fractures to his face and a cut near his eye during the assault, lost his house keys in the process, and stated he would be able to identify the attacker if he sees him again; meanwhile, police are asking anyone with information to call 310-412-5206.
- Authorities are treating the incident as a potential hate crime and continue to seek tips from the public. The suspect may be linked to a Chevrolet Malibu from the model years 2008 to 2012, possibly in silver, blue, or green, featuring tinted windows on the rear side.
