Consumer prices in the Czech Republic accelerated their annual growth to 2.5 percent in September from 1.9 percent in August. They remained at the same level month-on-month. This follows from the preliminary inflation estimate published today by the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO). The statisticians will announce the final value of September inflation on October 13, although they have always confirmed the preliminary estimate.
Price growth accelerated in September compared to the previous year. According to the preliminary estimate of the Statistical Office, annual inflation reached 2.5 percent, mainly due to higher prices of energy, services and alcoholic beverages.
