India's TCS to cut 12,000 jobs
On July 27, 2025, Tata Consultancy Services announced about 12,200 job cuts, as it retrains staff and enters new markets, according to the company.
Earlier this year, the Resource Management Group introduced a billability policy requiring 225 days of billability, and launched reskilling programmes as part of its Future-Ready journey.
TCS reported Rs 12,760 crore net profit in the April-June quarter, while adding 5,000 employees.
The company said, 'TCS CEO K Krithivasan confirmed the company will provide severance, extended insurance and outplacement assistance', and confirmed support measures.
As of July 2025, TCS said it will lay off 2 percent over the next year, against a backdrop of nearly 100,000 layoffs in the global tech industry.
